Who is Matt Sanderlin?
Matt Sanderlin is a Birmingham-bred, Nashville-based songwriter, producer, and performer blending dream pop, R&B, and alternative pop into cinematic, emotionally driven music. As the founder of Venture Boi, Sanderlin has been recognized by the Alabama Music Hall of Fame and featured by AL.com’s “50 Songs to Know by Alabama Musicians” in both 2019 and 2020.
Over the past decade, he has independently self-produced and released 4 full-length albums and more than 30 EPs and singles, building a loyal regional following through immersive live performances and ambitious concept records. His latest release, Yellow Cocktail Music - an R&B/pop concept album based on The Great Gatsby - is carried by the F. Scott and Zelda Fitzgerald Museum as well as Nashville record stores Grimey’s and Phonoluxe.
Sanderlin has shared the stage with artists including Maddie & Tae, Collective Soul, and The Brook & The Bluff, and first gained regional recognition after winning Montevallo’s Got Talent in 2011.
